Shagging Julie
An ensemble initiated by Michelle to develop a group practice
Red Jelly Omnibus workshop - UNSW 2003
This video was taken during a showing of some
explorations from three weeks of workshop in July 2003.
With
Michelle as the key facilitator, Shagging Julie developed a three
week workshop structure to investigate ideas of installation,
hybridity and translation between artforms. The final week of the
workshops concentrated on making meaning through the
re-contextualisation of objects through placement and juxtaposition.
We worked with 15 performers, architects, students, writers
and academics aged between 13 and 30 years old.
Point Blank Recital - Adelaide Fringe Festival 2002
Shagging Julie’s first full-length work. A performance installation aesthetic is beginning to emerge. Fully devised and somewhat improvised, this work took shape as a series of strange interconnected events happening in a small room in the back of a pub in Adelaide.
Meat the Juice - Shopfront 2002
Here Shagging Julie were invited to do some foyer performance. Choosing food as a theme they set to work to create some dynamic images.
Rehearsals - Sydney University 2002
These photos were taken as part of a rehearsal where we were trying out ways of ‘not-performing’ and ‘performing’. It took the shape of a strange party.
Zing - PACT 2002
More bizarre actions as part of a short works night.
